| | contemplative | ] | I went to Cousins Subs today - and next door is a smoke shop. In their window was a huge display for "Zig-Zags". It jogged my memory to when I was living in Phoenix with Trista. I was home alone one day, and a man came to the door - I didn't think twice about opening it (I suppose I was young, and had not yet discovered my addiction to reality crime TV). I said Hi and he kinda stood there looking at me, shifting his weight back and forth - and asked me if I had any zig-zags. I looked at him for a moment, trying to process what that was - and said no and smiled and closed the door. I had to ask someone what that was - but thinking back - being home alone, and him being at least a foot or more taller, and quite a bit larger then me - he could have at any point pushed me back into the house and had his way. I was looking in the peephole when i closed the door, and he walked in front of the door a few times before leaving. I hadn't really thought of it in any sort of dangerous light before. So that got me thinking of possible other times I was right in dangers way - and it was avoided. In the winter when I was helping out with the kids at Westfork Church - we took them up north to play in the snow. I had brought a camping stove to make lunch with. While they all went out to walk around Trista and I stayed back to make lunch. It was so cold outside, we decided to get into the car with the stove and put the heat on. It smelled kinda funny in the car, but I didn't think anything of it. Thinking back now - We definitly could have died of carbon monoxide poisioning - but we did not. When I was about 3 or 4 years old my mom took my brother and I to Smart and Final. We were following her around, and apparently I found a spray bottle on the floor, and decided to spray it into my mouth. My mom went to beauty school, and often cut peoples hair, as well as ours, so I would spray her water bottle in my mouth, and since I didn't know the difference, did the same here. My brother got my mom, and I immediatly threw up. But what if i hadn't, and ingested the cleaner. A couple of months ago Matt and I were coming home from dinner, and got cut off my a car in such a way, when we slammed on the breaks and still skidded within a 1/4 of an inch of hitting them. They took off - and we kept going. The car smelled like burnt rubber and chemicals. Down the freeway, almost home - Matt got a huge urge to use the restroom (even though he had just gone before we left the resturant) - so much so we had to pull off the freeway for him to stop. When we neared the stop light at the end of the off ramp - he realized out breaks were not working. If we had kept going on the freeway, what could have happened? Its amazing to me the hand that is in my life - and makes me realize that there is no other explanation other than I am meant to be here. I'm not sure what for really, but i have two prime examples, Matt and Jaiden |

Matt and I thought it would be funny to develop a pregnancy test for teenagers; in terminology they would understand. (one line, two lines...one blue...one pink...I don't see any of them making heads or tails of it) It would be a digital read out one - If you are NOT pregnant it would say: OMG if they were it would say: WTF
I know horrible. But we found it hilarious. :) |

| [ | mood |
| | cranky | ] | This doesn't apply so much, since i don't have many friends who post on here. but here it goes:
You know how sometimes people on your friend's list post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when are they working THERE? Since when are they dating HIM/HER? since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you *should* already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.
Please copy mine below, erase my answers putting yours in their place then post it in your journal! Please elaborate on the questions that would benefit from elaboration! One-Word-Answers seldom help anyone out :)
1. First Name: Jennifer
2. Age: 25
3. Location: Mesa, AZ
4. Occupation: I work for a company called Helser Brothers. We are a wholesale drapery hardware manufacturer. We sell to designers and chains like Robb & Stucky and Ethan Allen. I am in charge of the Tableaux department. Tableaux is a wood resin feaux iron that people use in windows, niches, and doors. Its a really pretty application, and I actually have one in my house! Google it!
5. Partner?: My husband Matt (Fredric), He is 29, and we will have been married 3 years on October 1st. Seems like yesterday honestly. I think we are becoming more and more alike everyday - i just hope i don't start looking like him. haha :) He is a very talented singer and musician. He can listen to any song once and figure it out on the guitar in no time. He works in IT, monitors servers for a mortgage company. He is also the best video game player I have ever met. He will beat you at anything, anytime. But if you ever beat him - you obviously cheated (so he will tell you). :)
6. Kids: 1 - Jaiden Matthew. He will be 4 on June 20th. He has bright blue eyes, curly blonde hair, and very fair skin. He looks like he belongs to my cousins Karin and Trevor more then Matt and I. :) He loves race cars, and especially the movie Cars. He knows every line. He also love Thomas Train and Sponge Bob. He is the tallest kid in his age group in day care, the doctor said he will probably be 6'3 if he continues on this growth path! We will hopefully have another child soon.
7. Brothers/Sisters: I have an older brother Tim, and a younger sister Kaitlyn. Tim and his wife Jenny live in Ohion with their 1 year old son Caleb. Tim has a black belt in Tang su do (i don't think i spelled that right). He is a very patient loving person, i could have no asked for a better brother. He is a stay at home dad right now (lucky). They are planning on moving back to AZ in october. Hip hip horray! My younger sister Kaitlyn just turned 14. She is becoming more and more beautiful everyday. She looks exactly like my mom. Shes the only one of us kids to get blue eyes. She likes sports, music and text messaging. haha. She is going into HS this coming up year.
8. Pets: We have an unoffical pet named Muffin Cat. She has adopted us because we feed her. She has no tail, and a really pretty face. She sits on her butt like a person. We recently shaved her because she was sheading too much - and now she looks like a weed whacker attacked her. poor kitty. :)
9. List the 3-5 biggest things going on in your life: a. I got moved into tableaux b. Our friends Monique and Sam had their first child. They are my frirst friends to have a baby. c. Making our new house a home. d. I have started working out with a palaties DVD - and its so hard core, it kicks my butt. e. Im trying to convince matt its time for another baby.
10) Where and for what did you go to school for?: I only went to a community college. I started my senior year of high school - i took some classes with my then boyfriend. i dropped out into my second semester, because i had a bad influance (*wink wink*) of a best friend. haha. I cant decide what I want to do with the rest of my life. Then, I will go back.
11) Parents? Faith and Chris (on his birth cirtificate it is spelled Cris). My dad is a teacher in the juvinial detention center on one of the indian reservations. He has a wonderful eye for photography and an ear for music. He plays the piano, guitar, bass guitar, and i believe he played the flute when he was younger. I get my artistic side from him. My mom works for mayo clinic. She recently got the opprotunity to work from home, and she starts that this week. Her favorite food is shrimp, she is going to school to be a nurse. and i get my inqusitive nature from her. She always has to know all details of a matter, and I am the same way. She looks young for her age, and I hope to age as gracefully as she has. |

Titled: Worst Day Ever
Let me start off by saying that this blog will NOT contain any whining - self pitty nor boring lists of everything that has gone wrong today - with that said... today was the worst day of my life. As some of you may know - i just got a new car (its a cute little Honda Element...) I really enjoy that car. There is a feature about this car, that i have found to loath. The car has self-locking doors - which at first glace seem like a very valuable feature for one as forgetful and sometime careless as I am. But turns out is not - I stopped to get gas today on my way home from fountain hills today - i clicked it to the right once to keep on "bullfrogs and butterflies" for jaiden, kept my door open, and started the process of paying for the gas at the pump - i noticed a girl in the pump across from mine, and as i glaced at her, the annoying beeping of the car got my attention - thinking to myself - thats probably very annoying to her as well...then i rememberd something someone told me - if they keys are in the ignition - then the doors should not lock on their own. So i reasoned that, if there is no harm, no more beeping, and the cold air will stay in the car. Apromaximatly 9 gallons of gas later, i hear the car lock. I stop. Pull the hose out of my gas opening, place it back...and begin to think of which door would still be open (surely....one has not locked) i try every door...every window...nothing budges....i think...push harder? I try...nothing. I cup my hands over my eyes against the window...i mouth to jaiden "can you unbuckle your seatbelt?" he didn't notice me...i say this time - outloud...he notices me, but he says something i can't make out - because he is 3, and inside a car. I run to all sides of the car, thinking of what i can tell him to do, to unlock the car...by then i notce his face is a little red (it was 115 today) I think - hey - i will use the phone inside, call someone who i gave my door opener to, and everything will be ok....i try to tell jaiden to get his cup of milk - knowing it was cold...so he could cool down a little - but he did not understand that either. so i go into the gas station - tell the attendant that i locked my son in the car, and was wondering if i can use the phone - long part of the story short, there are only payphones, i have to buy something - its a charge of 10 dollars.....i don't care, here is an apple pie - change back - thank you. by this time, i am a little worried...she took a long time...jaiden must be scared. i call trista - who is the only one i could think of - she is in chandler - she will be right there.....but i cannot think of the gas stations name, its on the beeline....hurry! now i am ALL OUT paniced - i run back to the car, i see jaidens beet red face, he is crying, and he is sweating.
I can not do anything!!! I have to wait 30 minutes.... Jaiden needs me... he is scared, and hot...... I grasp the side of the back window.....i am pulling and pulling - it might come loose.... its not budging... i can't leave him..... I put my right foot against the door and pull. The glass falls around me, and i don't notice...i just start sobbing. and sobbing....a kind man in a red car yells twards me and asks me if i am ok...i can't answer...i just sob and sob....i tell jaiden its ok, by this time he is wailing. the man looks very concerned for me, and all i can do is nod, and say - i locked him in the car - he was hot - and sweating.... i reach inside and unlock the front door - my alarm goes off, i grab my keys - push the disarm buttong and run to jaiden (noticing now, there is glass in my pumps)...then the kind man points at the blood pouring down the sides of my palms...i can only sob as i held my little man... he said he would get something for my hands. i put jaiden in the passenger sear, give him his milk and turn on the air conditioner on him full blast. the kind man came back - he asked jaiden if he was ok - and jaiden cried "mommy broke the window!" i laugh a little, and tell him its ok now - and the kind man said "its ok little man, she did it for you". he asked me again if i was ok, i said yes, and thank you, for your help...and the bandaids. Jaiden and i waited for Trista. She got there about 15 minutes later...and asked me why i didn't ask someone for a jimmy rig. (haha) Jaiden drove with trista home....there was glass on top of the car, inside the car...and around the car...and i drove behind them...gathering and absorbing what had just happened. Living in AZ - you hear about neglagant parents "forgetting" about their babies for an hour - and their children die in locked cars. Was I this parent....could that have been Jaiden in the news. Could i have done anything different? I came to the conclusion that No was the answer to both of these questions.... When we got home - Matt took over, and gave Jaiden dinner. I packed my hookah with melon sheesha - natalie gave me some of her rum, and i added some cherry coke...i put a blanket on our grass, and layed down to watch the sky. Everything was still. Although the colors changed from yellow to pink in the east and the clouds drew various pictures - it was all new...it was all crisp...it was beautiful. Jaiden is asleep...happy....even gave matt a hard time about going to bed... I don't know what to say to you all - but even though someone had not changed the toliet paper roll today when i got gotten home, and even though the food i got for dinner was too spicy....those things were good, and right, and fine. I am going to be cliche - but please, please....don't always look on the dark side of things - so, someone cut you off - so, you overdrafted your checking account - so you didn't finish your project on time - so your job isn't what you would like it to be...take things for what they are...and make sure you have your priorities straight. I might be rambling...but I cannot express this well enough - love your family, love your friends....and (ugh) don't sweat the small stuff. haha hopefully - this isn't a TL:DR I felt the need to tell you all this. |

| Slight Clarification... |
[Mar. 5th, 2008|06:38 am] |
In association with my privious post - I wanted to clarify. I do have the support of my husband...just not a spiritual partner. He does support my dedication to raise Jaiden in a Godly way. :)
On another note: I had a terrible ear infection this past weekend - it hurt like nobodys buisness and was leaking fluid (thats the best way to describe it without getting gross). The doctor said my ear drum was torn (almost to the point of bursting from the pressure of the infection). Its 5 days later, and its not hurting anymore - but i still cannot hear out of my right ear. Im getting sort of worried about it, so im going to look online and make sure this is normal. I suppose it wouldn't be the end of the world if i lost most of my hearing in that ear - I have another perfectly good one. :)
Matt and I have started getting organized for our move. We get our new house April 4th - which seemed so far away, but now is right around the corner! Im so excited about it. It has a fireplace, a jucuzzi, an AZ room with hardwood floors, celing fans in every room (which in AZ is a must!) 3 other bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. the kitchen is sort of small, but also cozy. :) My mind is still racing on how I can pull everything we have right now, into a really nice space in the new house. Im bubbling with excitment! :)
Jaiden is doing awesome. He got moved into the 4 year old class a couple months ago (because hes too smart for the 3 year old class...haha) and its super exciting to see him reconizing letters and numbers. He also started drawing faces!! Little kids perception and ability to draw is the cutest thing since ever!
Lastly: 'Lost' is amazing. :) |

| The secret life of..... |
[Mar. 4th, 2008|06:29 am] |
Do you know about the "secret" menu at In-n-Out? Not many people do - but it is on their website. I didn't really believe my husbands friend when he told me he wanted a "double double Animal style". I was like "honestly? You want me to say that? Are they going to laugh at me?" (hes the type for jokes) But I did a little research.
"3-by-3" = three meat patties and three slices of cheese.
"4-by-4" = four meat patties and four slices of cheese.
"2-by-4" = two meat patties and four slices of cheese.
*Note: You can get a burger with as many meat patties or cheese slices as you want. Just tell the In-N-Out Burger cashier how many meat patties and how much cheese you want and that is what you'll get! For instance, if you want 6 pieces of meat and 10 pieces of cheese tell them you want a "6-by-10."
"Double Meat" = like a Double Double without cheese.
"3 by Meat" = three meat patties and no cheese.
"Animal Style" = the meat is cooked and fried with mustard and then pickles are added, extra spread and grilled onions are added.
"Animal Style Fries" = fries with cheese, spread, grilled onions and pickles (if you ask for them).
"Protein Style" = for all you low-carbohydrate dieters, this is a burger with no bun (wrapped in lettuce).
"Flying Dutchman" = two meat patties, two slices of melted cheese and nothing else - not even a bun!
Fries "Well-Done" = extra crispy fries . . . even better than the regular!
Fries "Light" = opposite of fries well-done, more raw than most people like 'em
"Grilled Cheese" = no meat, just melted cheese, tomato, lettuce and spread on a bun.
"Veggie Burger" = burger without the patty or cheese. Sometimes we call this the "Wish Burger."
"Neapolitan" Shake = strawberry, vanilla and chocolate blended together.
I'm thinking about having a "Flying Dutchman" tonight. haha :) |

The Everything Test There are many different types of tests on the internet today. Personality tests, purity tests, stereotype tests, political tests. But now, there is one test to rule them all. Traditionally, online tests would ask certain questions about your musical tastes or clothing for a stereotype, your experiences for a purity test, or deep questions for a personality test. We're turning that upside down - all the questions affect all the results, and we've got some innovative results too! Enjoy :-) | Personality | You are more logical than emotional, more concerned about others than concerned about self, more religious than atheist, more dependent than loner, more lazy than workaholic, more traditional than rebel, more artistic mind than engineering mind, more idealist than cynical, more follower than leader, and more extroverted than introverted.
As for specific personality traits, you are religious (90%), artistic (83%), romantic (71%), intellectual (67%). | | | Stereotypes | | Emo Kid | 100% | | Old Geezer | 100% | | Prep | 85% | | | | Life Experience | | Sex | 23% | | Substances | 41% | | Travel | 38% | | Politics Your political views would best be described as Conservative, whom you agree with around 74% of the time. | | Socioeconomic Your attitude toward life best associates you with Middle Class. You make more than 0% of those who have taken this test, and 24% more than the U.S. average. | If your life was a movie, it would be rated PG. By the way, your hottness rank is 74%, hotter than 97% of other test takers. | TAKE THE TEST brought to you by thatsurveysite |
